Our story begins with simple curiosity and a deep respect for knowledge and life

Like many stories (and bubbling jars of fermentation), mine is one of transformation and discovery. From picky-eater to culinary explorer, from fermentation generalist to published cookbook author, from carnist to vegan, I have long been fascinated by the science, history, and culinary dimensions of food.

My journey took a turn when my wife and I adopted two dairy goats that were the final push in changing our perspective on what it means to eat and live compassionately. We embarked on a plant-based path, not just for our goats, but as a commitment to a kinder and more sustainable kitchen. It also helped that plants are freaking delicious!

This website won't just be a collection of recipes, it will be a reflection of a journey, my journey, and, hopefully, yours too.
